Unit 12: SUMMARY

Visual & Performing Arts

Students with talent in the Visual and Performing Arts are a unique group of college applicants. VPA students have the opportunity to consider a wide variety of college options as well as different types of majors to study their art form. In addition, they may be asked to audition or create a portfolio that highlights their best work. With advanced preparation for these additional application components, high school students can manage the application season with minimal stress. The best plan is one that starts with understanding students’ strengths and goals for their art form. This unit is designed to give students an opportunity to assess their skills, consider their future intent for their craft, and evaluate college Visual and Performing Arts offerings.
