Do you want to play your sport in college? There is a common myth that if you are good enough at your sport, college coaches will find you. The experience of being a part of a collegiate team can be more rewarding than any words on a page can describe, but it requires work to get there.

This unit will guide you to:
• Develop an understanding of collegiate sports opportunities and the athletic recruitment process.
• Complete a Student-Athlete Skills Assessment to determine your realistic level of play.
• Prepare for skillful communication including building a powerful academic/athletic résumé, communicating with coaches using concise email templates, and creating a powerful elevator pitch that reflects your profile.
• Target colleges that will fit your academic and athletic profile.
