Communications
One of the best ways to research potential careers of interest is to “try them on.” Brainstorm careers of interest or interview professionals in the community to learn about careers firsthand. Review the Communications Fact Sheet. Remember that professional organizations are great resources that will frequently offer student memberships at a discounted rate and may include e-newsletters and invitations to events that can lead to an initial introduction to the field. This is also a good time to evaluate your online presence on forums such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Be careful to set the security level so your personal conversations are not out there for colleges and employers to see!
